Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect only what is needed to create and deliver your child's book — a first name, your appearance choices (or an optional photo for the Photo Magic edition), and your contact for delivery. We never sell or share your child's data, and every uploaded photo is permanently deleted within 72 hours.
What we collect and why
- Child's first name and hero choice (boy, girl or sibling pair) — used only to create the book. We never ask for a surname, birth date or any document.
- Your email (and optional WhatsApp number) — the email is used to deliver the book; either may be used, if needed, to contact you about your order.
- Payment details — handled entirely by our payment provider, Dodo Payments. We never see or store your card or UPI details.
- Optional photo (Photo Magic edition only) — used once, to create the illustrated character of your child. The photo is processed by our illustration service (OpenAI API, which does not train on this data), you approve the resulting character before the book is made, and the photo is permanently deleted from all our systems within 72 hours of delivery. Photos are never used for anything else — no marketing, no AI training, no sharing.
Children's data
Our customers are parents and guardians. We collect a child's first name only from the adult making the purchase, use it solely inside the purchased book, and never use it for marketing, profiling or advertising. We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP, 2023) principles of purpose limitation and data minimisation.
Analytics & advertising
Our website uses Meta Pixel to measure how well our ads work (for example, counting a purchase). This concerns the adult visitor's browsing on this site — never the child's data from inside a book. You can limit ad tracking in your browser or device settings.
How long we keep data
- Uploaded photos (Photo Magic edition): permanently deleted within 72 hours of delivery.
- Order details (name used in book, contact, delivered file): kept up to 12 months so we can re-send your book if you lose it, then deleted.
Your rights
You may request a copy or deletion of your data at any time — email info@mymagicbook.shop and we will action it within 7 days.
